Call For Speakers
Our SBS 2025 Call for Speakers form is now available to fill out and apply. Join our expert lineup of industry leaders, innovators, and influencers as they explore the latest trends and insights into various themes including digital healthcare and smart hospitals, intelligent sustainable transport, smart lighting, digital facilities management, building management systems including best practices, PoV within technology, sustainability, NetZero built environment, construction, IT, IoT and smart cities sectors.
As a speaker, you’ll have the opportunity to share your insights, experiences, and strategies with a diverse audience of industry professionals, building operators, facilities managers, end clients, engineering consultants, sustainability leaders, technology providers, and many more. The Smart Buildings and Sustainability Leaders Forum provides a unique platform for engaging discussions, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities that are essential for staying up to date on the latest trends and best practices in smart cities and buildings, sustainability and the built environment.
Speaking at the SBS leader’s forum provides you the unique opportunity to communicate, educate and make contact with leading peers at the UK’s premiere event for senior smart buildings and sustainability professionals.
Speaker Terms & Conditions
Proposals are reviewed by the SBS steering committee members and subject matter experts. During the process, we vet the potential speaker, not the speaker’s company or organization. SBS expects the speaker to honour his or her commitment to present the proposed session at the subject event.
The proposals are evaluated in whole or in part on the following criteria:
- Subject matter is cutting-edge or presents new ideas, presented in a creative and engaging way
- Topic is timely for the industry today and will attract high quality attendees
- The content provides a thought-leadership perspective for the conference attendees
- Abstract and title of the session demonstrate the intent concisely
- Learning objectives and learning levels are well-defined and support each other
- Attendees will able to relate to the content and apply what they’ve learned in their roles
- Technical accuracy
- Context of the issues including real-world case studies, examples, and stories
- Speaker presentation skills and experience
- Speaker is knowledgeable, engaging and experienced on the topic submitted
- Speaker industry leadership
- Education focus devoid of overt and covert commercialism
- Overall quality of the written proposal
The Smart Buildings and Sustainability Leaders Forum is operated as a not-for-profit event underwritten by Integrated System Technologies Limited and supported by sponsors serving the smart cities, intelligent building, construction, built environment, sustainability, IT, information security, workspace management, intelligent transport, digital healthcare, lighting, building management system controls, and IoT communities. The majority of speakers and their companies recognize the importance of being part of the SBS’s leader’s forum and embrace a philanthropic spirit by funding travel and lodgings. The SBS leader’s forum provide speakers the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise, knowledge and experience, as well as to network with leading peers for business development purposes.

- One (1) complimentary registration for the conference including food and refreshments
- Complement access to the exhibition areas
- Networking agenda
- Communication of speaker participation in the official event marketing material

Please note complimentary registration is not transferable or able to be used as a credit. If multiple speakers are presenting, SBS offers one (1) additional complimentary conference registration if presentation materials are submitted by deadlines. In addition, SBS recognizes speakers and their companies as “conference supporters” in conference and marketing material distributed to delegates.

Speakers have the opportunity to take part as a panellist in fireside chats moderated by session chairs, and you will have the chance to propose discussion topics and 4-5 bullet points to discuss during your panel.
Please Note: Because there is considerable competition for the limited number of presentation opportunities all applications will be reviewed by each theme steering committee and successful applicants will be based on subject relevance, content quality, speaker seniority.
There are a limited number of speaking spaces assigned as part of the sponsorship packages. End users, large contractors, sustainability leaders, facilities management professionals, market research analysts, and media are welcome to apply and will be accepted to speak at no cost.
The call for speakers follows a rolling submission process following review by theme chairs of applications when received however there are several deadlines for submission:
9th October, 2024 – Call for speakers opens
1st March, 2025 – Call for speakers closes
31st March 2025 – Final agendas published
September 2025 – Smart Buildings and Sustainability Leaders Forum
